A medieval village - a tourist attraction for tourists in ŚwiętokrzyskieA reconstruction of a medieval village - a settlement that reminds a Slavonic town - will be built by the end of 2010 on a 1.5ha. plot of land for tourists in Huta Szklana, at the feet of mount Święty Krzyż - the government of the Bieliny borough in the Świętokrzyskie region have announced. "The reconstruction will be a supplement for the education offer of the post-Benedictine monastery on Święty Krzyż, it will present early Christianity in the Świętokrzyskie region"- announced Jadwiga Wójcik, the Bieliny borough's secretary. Part of the village will containg a "land of Świętokrzyskie legends" - a base for field works that will refer to local facts, present Slavonic mythology and its relics in modern day custom. There will be a holy grove - a place where June bonfires will take place - where stone rings of the gods Świst, Poświst and Pogoda will stand. The highest part of the land has been reserved for the construction of a wooden church. Small mounds will surround the church, they will serve as imitations of burial spots. Around the plot of land there will be wooden buildings, which will present the life of Slavs and there jobs in the XI-XII century. The visitors will be allowed to embody themselves as Slavonic workers by making clay pottery, platting wickless, weaving material for shirts, enter the yards of a farmer or wild-bee keeper.
The plan to build the medieval village is part of the project "Restoring the monuments of the Święty Krzyż complex together with creating a Center of Tradition and Tourism in the Świętokrzyskie mountains". The borough of Bieliny will receive 13.5m. zł of EU funds to go through with this project. MCH PAP - Science and Scholarship in Poland, tr. ajb bsz
